Coreholder for the studies of electric properties of core

The coreholders for the studies of electric properties of core are installed in systems for reservoir fluid filtration studies. The range of coreholders allows working with cores of up to 100mm in diameter and up to 1m long.

Design features

Coreholder design applies 3D rock pressure to the core sample. Two pressure outlet ports in the middle part of the sample ensure precise differential pressure measurement leaving out edge effects. For pressure measurement, a 4-point system with ring measurement electrodes in the middle part is used.

Application

The coreholders are used for a wide range of research applications:

  • Phase permeability;
  • Porosity;
  • Compressibility;
  • Resistance;
  • Residual water saturation.

Technical specifications

Standard core diameters 30, 67, 100 mm
Length up to 1000 mm
Rock pressure up to 100 MPa
Reservoir pressure up to 60 MPa
Temperature up to 150°С
Material of wetted parts SS 316

Cells for proppant conductivity studies

API-61 cell is intended for proppant conductivity studies. To perform a measurement, proppant is placed between the two planes of the cell. A cell modeling a fracture is placed in a hydraulic press. A prepared pre-heated liquid is pumped through the proppant pack. At a fixed compression of the pack, the following parameters are measured: pressure difference, flow rate and fracture width.
